Education:

Sosina is a Ph.D. student in Norway at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, where she got her Masters in Development and Resource Economics. Before she started her graduate studies, Sosina taught introductory courses at the Economics Department in Addis Ababa University. Sosina spent one semester, in the spring of 2006, as a visiting student at Cornell University.

Research

For her Masters thesis, Sosina studied the welfare impact of food-for-work based on a survey she undertook in Tigray, one of the least favorable regions in Ethiopia. Her Ph.D. dissertation will examine in detail the rural non-farm economy. She will use data from the Ethiopian Rural Household Survey Data, which is collected by the Economics Department at Addis Ababa University in association with IFPRI and CSAE/Oxford.
