Chayanee is a PhD candidate in the Department of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University. Her plan for dissertation is to investigate the roles of social networks on rural nonfarm economy/microenterprises. Her research interests also include household behavior, rural finance and risk, poverty and growth process in developing countries.

Chayanee holds a BA.(Hons) and an MA.in Economics from Thammasat University, Thailand. Her undergraduate economic majors were international and quantitative economics. After having an experience on projects related to roadmap and indicator for sustainable development in Thailand, her main focus is toward development economics. Prior to studying at Cornell, Chayanee has worked as a lecturer at Thammasat University. Outside academia, she really has a passion for traveling, both city and natural sightseeing, where she enjoys taking photographs of scenery and people's life. She also enjoys painting and yoga as ways to practice meditation.
