Yanyan is a research fellow in International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). She received a joint PhD in economics and agricultural economics from Michigan State University in December 2006. She also holds an M.S. in statistics from Michigan State University and a B.A. in economics from Nankai University. Before joining IFPRI, she worked for RTI International and for the Development Research Group at the World Bank. Her principal research interest lies in empirical applied microeconomics. Her current research has focused on anti-poverty program impact evaluation, microfinance, and agricultural insurance.
