Here is my most recent CV.
I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Development Economics working with Professor Christopher B. Barrett in the Department of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University. My main fields of research and teaching are development economics, applied econometrics and applied economics, microeconomics, and public policy analysis.
My current research centers around the analysis and
measurement of household poverty dynamics with a particular interest in research
that is relevant to poverty reduction policies. My work has been published in
the Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Development Studies, Development Policy Review, as chapters
in two refereed books, in nine other publications, and in over a dozen
reports commissioned by international donor agencies.
I have a Ph.D. in development economics (Cornell University, 2008), an M.Sc. in development economics (School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, 1995), and a B.Sc. (Econ) in economics (University College London, University of London, 1994).
Between my Masters and Ph.D. I spent two years as an Overseas Development Institute (ODI) Fellow in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development in Fiji and four years as a Research Officer at the ODI in London working on poverty, public policy and expenditure management issues.
I was born in Porto Alegre (Brazil) and grew up in Eppstein (Germany) and Colombo (Sri Lanka). When I am not busy with economics I enjoy being outside. I am on my bicycle year-round in Ithaca, NY, where my wife and I are Vice Presidents of Family Cycling at the Finger Lakes Cycling Club. I love cyclocross racing almost as much as riding the tandem with my two little daughters.
