Divya is a 2023 Atkinson post-doctoral scholar working on assessing the potential of the carbon credit market in India to subsidize and accelerate the adoption of sustainable intensification technology. Divya received her PhD in Resource, Policy, and Behavior from the School of Environment and Sustainability at the University of Michigan, where she focused on the feedback between off-farm diversification and agricultural management strategies. She has also worked extensively on gender, food and nutrition security, and the well-being of rural communities in the global south. Previously Divya worked with the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE) on understanding the vulnerability and adaptation of agrarian and forest-dependent communities in semi-arid regions in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
