Juan Manuel is an agricultural engineer and a Fulbright scholar from Santa Fe, Argentina. He is an international student enrolled in the MS program with a concentration in International Developmental and Agricultural Economics. Juan Manuel is interested in agriculture food systems. He believes in the power of disruptive technologies and innovation as a motor of social and economic change for the world.
Prior to Cornell, Juan has worked for the National Institute of Agriculture Research (INRA) of France as a data scientist in sustainable dairy farming. Later, he went back to his country and worked as an open innovation leader for the Rosario Stock Exchange. During that time, Juan deployed a program called BCR Start-up Network; an acceleration program for start-ups that aims to boost Argentina’s agrifood-tech ecosystem by helping local entrepreneurs to connect with corporate venturing and promote their technologies.
After graduation, he plans to pursue a career in the agrifood-tech sector and lead initiatives that seek to generate novel ways of producing food.
