Kelsey is a Research Support Specialist in the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell. She holds an MS in Agricultural and Biological Engineering and a BS in Systems Engineering and Design, both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During that time, she also co-founded a non-profit that provides consultation on rural drinking-water projects in Senegal, Honduras, and Guatemala.
Her research and work experience reflect her interests in engineering and development. She has worked with the USAID Feed the Future Strengthening Agriculture and Nutrition Extension (SANE) activity in Malawi, where she led the development, rollout, and impact evaluation of an agricultural extension system mobile application. Her thesis research included analyzing stakeholder perspectives on international development project success through a combination of data scraping, phrase mining, and qualitative comparative analysis techniques.
