I use integrated earth- and human-systems approaches to answer questions related to disaster risk reduction, climate adaptation, resilience and sustainable development. I am particularly interested in how institutions, inequalities and other socioeconomic patterns shape our ability to absorb and recover from exposure to natural hazards and climate change.
