Aqsa is a second-year MPH student specializing in Sustainable Food Systems and Health. Hailing from Pakistan, she developed a strong interest in public health early in her career, working across various sectors, including food systems, health, and policy. Over the past five years, she has been actively involved in the development sector, partnering with governments from Australia, Turkey, the UK, the USA, the Maldives, and Pakistan. Her work has focused on designing and implementing projects aimed at poverty alleviation, integrating the One Health approach to address health challenges, transforming food systems, managing value chains in developing countries, maternal and child health, and tackling climate change.
Currently, Aqsa leads the 'Green Ethos' climate change awareness initiative in Pakistan. She also interned at the United Nations 3rd Committee and is presently engaged in projects at the Italian National Institute of Health (ISS) that aim to enhance health security through public health prevention and preparedness using the One Health approach. Additionally, Aqsa is working on a biodiversity conservation project in the Falkland Islands, further showcasing her commitment to preserving the planet's natural ecosystems. These diverse projects, including those planned for Libya and Bosnia, reflect her dedication to making a significant impact on global public health. Aqsa is deeply committed to a holistic, interdisciplinary approach, exploring the complex interplay of individual, social, environmental, and policy factors that influence public health challenges.
